Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Here you find some questions asked frequently by users:

  1. What are the minimum requirements for WebReview?
WebReview will run on every system than runs Firefox 3.5 or higher.
  1. Which data is collected by WebReview?
WebReview calculates most of it's data exclusively from the Firefox history database (called "Places"), such as domain, subdomain, DayVisits of a page. For better recognition WebReview takes a screenshot of every web page you visit and stores it together with the calculated data in an own database file (webreview.sqlite) in your Firefox profile folder. You will see that screenshot when you use WebReview.
  1. What are DayVisits? How do they differ from visits?
Visits show you how, often you have been on that web page, independently from when and in which interval the visits have been. A web page that has five visits for example, could have been visited five times on one day or on five days, each with one visit. So visits are not that meaningful for a long period.
DayVisits however only count the amount of days you visited that web page. Regarding the example above, a value of five DayVisits for a web page means that you have been on that page on five days, each with at least one visit. If you visit a page more than one time on a day, the DayVisits counter will still count only one DayVisit for that day. DayVisits will show you how often you have really been on that page over a long period of time.
